Ulan Bator, October 4, 2018.- As a culmination of her two weeks of work in Ulan Bator, Dr. Yanisbel Ortiz Peña, Specialist of 1st Degree in Angiology and Vascular Surgery of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), was invited by Dr. Baldorj Ochirkhuyag, Vice President of Cooperation, Research and Innovation, of the National University of Mongolia, to visit the Faculty of Microbiology of that university. During the visit, she was able to share her experiences of working in Mongolia with the teachers and students.

Debate in Ethiopia on the Constitution Draft

Addis Ababa, September 29, 2018.  The Cuban working in Ethiopia under governmental agreements hold meetings to discuss the Draft Constitution of the Republic of Cuba.  The officials of the Embassy, the health and education cooperants made more that 100 proposals of changes to the text, as well as expressed their considerations on the ways the State, the Government and the legal system shall work in Cuba.

Cuba participated today in the debate on Item 28: Social development; a) Implementation of the outcome of the World Summit for Social Development and of the twenty-fourth special session of the General Assembly; and b) Social development, including questions relating to the world social situation and to youth, ageing, disabled persons and the family, from the agenda of the United Nations.

Cuba and The Bahamas for a greater exchange in the tourism sector

During the opening ceremony of the State of Tourism Industry Conference SOTIC 2018, the Minister of Tourism and Aviation of The Bahamas, the Honorable Dionisio D'Aguilar, exchanged with the Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara M. Vargas Walter. Both parties ratified the interest in developing tourism multi-destination programs, taking into account the attractions offered by the two nations.

The Secretary General of the Danish United Nations Association, Torleif Jonasson, received today a courtesy visit of the Ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas. During the meeting both discussed, among other topics, the impact of the US blockade against Cuba and the significant damages it has caused to the Cuban people for almost six decades.
