New Zealand Film Festival Arrives in Havana

Nearly a dozen of full-length films and eight short films from New Zealand complete the selection of the First Festival dedicated to the cinematography of the southern country in Havana, confirmed today the organizers of this festival.

From May 31 to June 4, the rooms of the Infanta Cinema, located in city centre of Havana, will host the exhibition of the selected productions, with the objective to show a new light on the production of the contemporary history of New Zealand, as well as on its current social and cultural framework.

DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES TRAVELS TO CUBA

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Honorable Sir Louis Straker, have  travelled to  Cuba on the Sunday evening of May 28th, to participate in the commemorative act for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and that Caribbean country.

The annual meeting of Cuban residents in Denmark took place in Odense on 27 May. The Cuban Ambassador, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas and the Consul, Ares Valdés Acea, attended to the meeting where participated more than 80 Cuban residents and their families, from different regions of the Nordic country. An audiovisual material was screened during the gathering, which summarizes the main activities that they developed jointly with the Embassy.
