On April 26, the President of the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples (MovPaz), Silvio Platero, reiterated in Havana that the U.S. Naval Base in Guantánamo is the only one in the world which exists against the will of the people and government of the land on which it is located.
The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ghana, Hon. Mr. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, received the Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne Gonzalez at the headquarter of the Ministry.
The Ghanaian Minister and the Cuban Ambassador talked on the historical cooperation between the two countries in the field of the sports and expressed that the boxing is an activity of common interest, because Ghana and Cuba had had good performances in this sport and Cuba had been training Ghanaian boxers many years ago. The Minister also emphasized about the presence in Ghana of the Cuban doctors.
On April 21, at the headquarters of Cuba’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, the governments of the Republic of Cuba and the Kingdom of Morocco announced and ratified a document reestablishing diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level

New York, 26 April 2017. -The United Nations Organization headquarters hosted the ceremony for the deposit of the instrument of ratification of the Republic of Cuba to “The Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety”.
The deposit ceremony was held with the presence of the Director of the UN Treaty Division, Mr. Santiago Villalpando, who received this instrument and, on behalf of the Secretary-General, expressed appreciation for Cuba’s adherence to this treaty.
Cuban Ambassador to Cambodia pays a working call to Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hor Namhong, at Council of Ministers of the Southeast Asian nation. Both parties referred to the history of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Cambodia.

Ms. Tehmina Janjua, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Gabriel Tiel Capote, who took the occasion to congratulate her on recent appointment as head of this important post. Cuba participated today in the High Level Event of the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Adoption of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, as part of the 16th session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
GRULAC member States represented in Bangkok met on April 25th, 2017, to celebrate the presentation of Letters of Credence by Ambassadors of Mexico and Argentina to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun (King Rama X). GRULAC countries with representation in Bangkok include Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, Chile, Cuba, México, Panamá and Perú - with Cuba being the sole Caribbean country with a diplomatic mission in Thailand.
