THE BAHAMAS, January 31, 2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba in The Bahamas Ismara Vargas Walter,  attended as a special guest at a Round Table Conference for businessmen and private investors, held in the Caribbean country.

The meeting, held at the Lyford Cay Club and organized by the DELTEC group was part of interesting presentations on the investments made today in various fields of technology, robotics, space industry, as well as an update of the current world market situation and areas with high yield potential for private investors.

The IV CELAC Summit Meeting recently held in Quito, Ecuador, approved several relevant documents to our nations. In addition to the substantial and comprehensive Final Declaration, this time it was adopted a Special Declaration on the commitment to advance in multilateral negotiations on Nuclear Disarmament. Its first point was precisely to consolidate Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, as it was proclaimed at the II Summit held in Havana in January 2014. The 47thAnniversary of the Cuban Revolution and the 163rd Birth´s Anniversary of José Martí, National Hero, were held at the headquarters of the Clement Payne Chamber in a crowded political and cultural activity in which the Cuban Embassy and the Association of Cuban Residents "Martyrs of Barbados" shared with Barbadian friends from various social sectors an excellent evening, which political party had as featured speakers the President of the Barbados-Cuba Association of Friendship, David Denny, the President of the Clement Payne Movement, David Comissiong, and the Cuban Ambassador to Barb

India, January 28, 2016. This afternoon took place at the Embassy of Cuba to this country, a heartfelt ceremony of tribute to the National Hero of Cuba in the 163 anniversary of his birth.

The Cuban Ambassador designated Oscar Martinez Cordovés and three young Cuban pioneers spoke a few words in which was stressed the significance of the thought of José Martí, its universal scope, as well as its successful revolutionary and literary work.

THE BAHAMAS, January 27, 2016. - Mr. Quintin LaRoda, Vice President of the Union of Teachers of Grand Bahama was received at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba by the Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter.

During the meeting, Mr. LaRoda highlighted the work carried out by Cuban teachers on the island of Grand Bahama (Freeport) and the degree of acceptance by the Bahamian population.

New Delhi, January 27, 2016. The Cuban Ambassador designated Oscar Martinez Cordovés had yesterday the opportunity to greet and briefly exchange with the Minister of Trade and Industry (with independent charge) and Minister of Finance, H. E. Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman. This meeting was in a cordial and friendly atmosphere during the reception hosted by the president of the nation, H. E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to the Heads of Mission accredited in the country as part of the celebrations for the 67th anniversary of India Republic Day.

THE BAHAMAS, January 15, 2016.- This afternoon the Ambassador of Cuba in The Bahamas, Ismara Walter M. Vargas held a meeting at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy with Mr. Edison L. Sumner, Chief Executive Director of Chamber of Commerce and Employers' Confederation of the Association of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the existing cooperation agreement between the Chambers of Commerce of Cuba and The Bahamas signed on July 17, 2015, and pledged to deepen economic-commercial ties between the two nations.

New Delhi, January 12 th 2016. The New Indian Express, published fragments of the intervention of H.E.  Mr. Oscar Martinez Cordovés, new Ambassador of Cuba designated to India during his participation in a symposium on “Left alternative”. This activity was at the 4th International Congress on Kerala Studies organized by the Indian Communist Party Marxist, from 9 to 10 January 2016 in that Indian state.

The General Secretary of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU), Sonia Gill, announced during a working meeting with representatives of the Barbadian Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Cuban Embassy that its 47th Annual General Assembly will be made this year in Havana, Cuba, under a collaboration agreement with the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT).
