Cuba calls for the establishment of a New International Economic Order more equitable and just for the benefit of Small Island Developing States.

Nassau, 24 February 2017.- The International Symposium "Equipping Public Institutions and Mobilizing Partnerships for the Implementation of Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development and the Samoa Road of Small Island Developing States (SIDS)", concluded yesterday in The Bahamas. The event took place between 21 and 23 February in the Bahamian capital.

An international colloquium on the Fidel´s life and work was devoted to the Barbadian youth.

Young Barbadians from university and pre-university education formed an ideal audience that received with great interest the International Colloquium on the life and work of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, held in two intense sessions of fruitful exchange this February 24th, at UWI - Cave Hill Campus, sponsored by its Social Sciences Faculty and the Network in Defense of Humanity - Caribbean Chapter, with the collaboration of the embassies of Cuba and Venezuela.

Ambassador of Cuba realize official visit to Abia State in Nigeria

Nigeria, February 23, 2017. On February 21 and 22, Cuban Ambassador Carlos Trejo Sosa visited to the State of Abia, located in southeastern Nigeria, at the invitation of his Governor.

The Ambassador held a meeting with Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, State Governor and several members of his cabinet, including the Minister of Health of the territory. The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere of mutual respect, in accordance with the existing ties between the two countries.

The legacy of the Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro stands out in Barbados.

Organized by the Caribbean Chapter of the Network for the Defense of Humanity, an International Discussion Panel was held in Barbados, which disseminated interesting reflections on the thinking and work of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, which had wide repercussions in the local and regional media. A panel of prominent intellectuals and academics, members of the Network residing in several Caribbean islands, exchanged experiences and relevant historical facts about Fidel's humanitarian and internationalist legacy.

National Union of Public Workers in Barbados joins the Caribbean Network in Defence of Humanity.

In an event of high political and social relevance for the Caribbean working class, the incorporation of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) into the Caribbean Chapter of the Network in Defense of Humanity became. With the presence of three national directors in the International Discussion Panel on the legacy of the Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro, held precisely at NUPW headquarters, its president Akanni McDowall stated that his organization will be present wherever there is a noble cause in defense of the Rights of the working class and of humanity.

British Union of Teachers Awarded

UNITED KINGDOM, 23 February, 2017. - The Medal for the 55th Anniversary of the Establishment of the National Union of Education, Science and Sports Workers (SNTECD, by its Spanish initials), awarded in Pedagogy 2017 to the National Union of Teachers (NUT), was presented to its Secretary General, Kevin Courtney, during the meeting of its national executive.

The Ambassador to Cuba, Teresita Vicente Sotolongo, stated that the medal of the Cuban union had its origin in the campaign carried out in Cuba in 1961 for eradicating illiteracy.
