THE BAHAMAS, March 2, 2017.- Cuban Ambassador to the Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, recently held an exchange with the Bahamian Minister of Tourism, Hon. Obediah H. Wilchcombe, at the headquarters of his ministry.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the pending bilateral issues and agreed to work together for the development of tourism in the Caribbean region.

Guyana. March 2nd, 2017. The Foreign Minister and Second Vice-President of Guyana, Honorable Carl Barrington Greenidge, received the Cuban Ambassador, Julio César González Marchante, in his office at the local Foreign Ministry on Wednesday afternoon.

Cuba's Chargé d'affaires in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, paid a courtesy call to the Liberian Minister of Health, Dr. Bernice Dahn, who welcomed him at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health of that West African nation.The Cuban diplomat sent his counterpart a fraternal greeting on behalf of the government and Cuban health authorities, in particular the Minister of Health, Roberto Morales Ojeda.

Windhoek, March 1, 2017.The General Secretary of the SWAPO Women's Council, Eunice Ipinge, presented at the headquarters of that political organization to the Cuban Ambassador in Namibia, Giraldo Mazola, a recognition to the Cuban Women's Federation (FMC) for its solidarity with the Namibian people in the struggle for national liberation and after their independence.

The women's leader remembered all the support provided by the Cuban people in general and the FMC in particular. In addition, she evoked the historic ties of friendship between the two nations

For his part, the Cuban Ambassador thanked the beautiful gesture on behalf of the FMC and updated about the achievements of the Revolution in the women sector.

The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, was received by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his office at the Presidential Palace, known as Flagstaff House.

Kuwait, February 28, 2017.Cuba's ambassador to Kuwait Andrés González Garrido paid a visit to AlSeef Hospital and held a meeting with its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Yousif Abou Zahr, With whom he toured some areas of this medical institution.

During the meeting they referred to the possibility of establishing cooperation with Cuban institutions in the field of medical care and human resources.

Nairobi, February 28. The Director-General of the United Nations Office in Nairobi, H.E. Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde, received today in a solemn audience the Cuban ambassador to Kenya, Ernesto Gómez Díaz, who presented his credentials as Permanent Representative of his country to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Program Of the United Nations for Human Settlements (UN-Habitat).

Past February 26,  2017 Cubans resident in the northern and important city of Tessaloniki in Greece, held a cheerful,  patriotic and fraternal exchange with the Ambassador and the Consul of the Embassy of Cuba in Greece , ocassion in which the Cubans agreed, in an enthusiastic and unanimous way,  to create the Association of Cuban residents in Tessaloniki, electing the fellow countrywoman  Maria Julia Villegas Rodríguez as Head of the association.

At the II Summit of the States of Latin America and the Caribbean (CELAC) at Havana in  2014, Latin America was declarated as a Peace Zone. This proclamation was ratified at the V Summit of CELAC in Dominican Republic on January 25, 2017, at an special declaration in favou of theTotal and complete disarmament.
