Wellington, 17 may 2016.- As part of a mission to assist Fiji after the devastating effects of Cyclone Winston, a couple of doctors from the "Henry Reeves" Brigade ended their work in Suva. Epidemiologists Adrian Benitez Proenza and René Aveleira Cutiño departed back to their homeland after more than a month and half involved in diverse tasks in the Pacific Island. During their stay, both doctors worked with local health authorities and had the opportunity to exchange experiences with other colleagues from different countries.
THE BAHAMAS, 16 May 2016.- The Director of the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, William Pratt, received the Ambassador of Cuba in the Caribbean country, Ismara Walter Vargas.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensure proper implementation of the existing Memorandum of Understanding on migration issues between the two countries.
Port of Spain, 16 May.- More than a hundred young Trinidadians of Malick Secondary School of the homonymous neighborhood of the capital of the country, participated in a cultural presentation dedicated to Cuba. The exercise is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago to stimulate the learning of the Spanish language and promote the knowledge of Latin American cultures in this Caribbean island. It also represents one more step in the intense and fruitful collaboration program developed by the Embassy of Cuba and the Ministry of Education trinitarian.
THE BAHAMAS, 12 May 2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, made a courtesy call on the Hon. Dr. Daniel Johnson, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture of the Caribbean country.
Overall, both sides discussed the most important aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, while they committed to further strengthening the relations between Cuba and The Bahamas in the areas of culture and sport.
Declaration by the Revolutionary Government
Havana, May 11 (Prensa Latina) The minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to the Kingdom of Spain, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, will pay an official visit to Cuba on May 13-16, the Cuban Foreign Ministry confirmed today in its official website. The distinguished visitor will hold official talks with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla and will carry out other activities, the communique added.
Wellington, May 10th, 2016.-The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee at New Zealand Parliament, Mark Mitchell, expressed his interest in Cuba and his willingness to boost ties between the two countries. During a meeting held at Parliament House with the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, New Zealand politician also express his favourable approach in promoting an exchange with the members of the Committee he leads, in order to learn about the current status of the Caribbean island and examine opportunities for the development of bilateral relations.
