Cuban Ambassador visited the fish hatchery built in Mariel as result of the cooperation with Norway in the aquaculture sector
Oslo, September 3, 2023. During her recent stay in Cuba, the ambassador Maité Rivero Torres went to the Mariel Marine Fish Farming Experimental Station, belonging to the Cuban Center for Fisheries Research (CIP), to visit the fish hatchery built there as a result of the cooperation existing between Norway and Cuba in the aquaculture sector.
Cuban sociologists join the Norwegian University of Stavanger for Master´s and Doctoral studies.
Oslo, September 2, 2023. A new group of Cuban professors and researchers recently joined the University of Stavanger (UiS) as part of the cooperation project “Wellbeing in Cuba and Norway. Strengthening professional training on social policies and welfare from an intercultural perspective”, in force between the Department of Social Studies of that Norwegian center of higher studies and the Department of Sociology of the University of Havana (UH).

Message from the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association (Cubaforeningen i Norge) on the occasion of the the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks, National Rebellion Day
On this day 70 years ago, July 26, 1953, Fidel Castro led his followers in his first organized attack against dictator Fulgencio Batista and the Moncada military camp in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
The 26th of July Movement – a struggle against the US-backed dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista began. The attack failed and both Fidel and Raul Castro were captured by Batista's forces. During a court appearance in the aftermath of the incident, Fidel Castro defended himself with his historic plea of History Will Absolve Me.
