Aggression with fire arm against the Embassy of Cuba in the United States

In the early hours of Thursday, 30April 2020, an unknown individual opened fire with an assault weapon against the building of the Embassy of Cuba in the United States.  There was no personal injury to the Mission staff, which is safe and protected, but there was material damage caused to the building resulting from the impact of the bullets.

The individual, about whose identity to the Cuban government has no information, was detained on site by local authorities and is under custody.

Still on guard

Another week of the COVID-19 battle in Cuba began with the encouraging news of only 20 new cases and 24 medical discharges in a single day, while the government continues its daily analysis of the situation, reaffirming that despite the epidemic’s favorable development we cannot lower our guard in the slightest.

Emphasizing this premise, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, led Monday’s meeting of the prevention and control task in the Palace of the Revolution.

Pakistan calls for the immediate lifting of the blockade against Cuba

Pakistan-Cuba Social Forum called for the immediate lifting of the United States' blockade against Cuba, in the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic. The appeal as follows:

In the context of novel COVID-19 pandemic Pakistan-Cuba Social forum appeals to the United Nations, and the US President Donald Trump to immediately lift decades-long economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba in the face of the crisis caused by the global pandemic of the coronavirus causing the COVID-19 disease.

The President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, appeared on the Mesa Redonda television-radio show, Friday March 20, along with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and other ministers, to announce new measures adopted to confront Covid-19 in the country.
