Ambassador of Cuba in Maldives presents Credentials

MALDIVAS, October 24, 2017. - On October 23, 2017, H.E. Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez presented to His Excellency Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, President of the Republic of Maldives, the Credentials that accredit her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Maldives, with headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The blockade of United States against Cuba is condemned in Sri Lanka

SRI LANKA, October 17, 2017. - Convened by the Frontline Socialist Party, a large group of friends of Cuba gathered today, in front of the headquarters of the United States Embassy in Colombo, demanding the immediate lifting of the blockade imposed on Cuba by the US government, for more than 50 years.

Presents also delivered a written notification to the US Embassy demanding that the US government put an end to the unjust policy of blockade against Cuba, while expressing their solidarity with the Caribbean island.

Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the fall in combat of Che Guevara in Sri Lanka

SRI LANKA, October 9, 2017.- After the traditional wreath deposited next to the plaque located at the base of the tree planted by Che during his visit to Sri Lanka, in August 2017, in the town of Horana with the participation of parliamentarians, members of the local government, members of the Friendship Association, officials of the Embassy of Cuba and friends, a rally of more than 300 motorcycles left for the southern town of Hambantota, in reference to Che's tour of Central and South America.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka receives Cuban Ambassador

SRI LANKA, September 22, 2017. - The Honorable Tilak Marapana, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, received the Cuban Ambassador, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting both sides addressed issues of bilateral interest and highlighted the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Cuban President sends condolences to Sri Lanka

 

SRI LANKA, May 29, 2017. - Cuban President, Raul Castro Ruz, sent a message of condolences to Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena for the losses of the human lives and the damages caused by the floods and landslides in the south-west of the country, which he extended also to the families of the victims.
