Prime Minister of Sri Lanka receives Cuban Ambassador

SRI LANKA, March 15, 2017. - The Honorable Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, received the Cuban Ambassador, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at his official residence of Temple Trees.

During the meeting, the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries were highlighted, as well as the interest of both sides to continue developing them. The Prime Minister also referred to the figure of the Commander-in-Chief and his work in favor of the Cuban people.

Minister of Sports of Sri Lanka receives the Cuban Ambassador

SRI LANKA, March 7, 2017. - The Honorable Dayasiri Jayasekera, Minister of Sports of Sri Lanka received at the headquarters of his Ministry the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez.

During the meeting, which was attended also by several members of the work team of Minister Jayasekera, the excellent relations of cooperation between the two countries in the field of sport were highlighted. The two parties also discussed new ways of promoting bilateral collaboration in this area.

Ambassador of Cuba holds meeting with State Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development of Sri Lanka

SRI LANKA, February 27, 2017.- The Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodriguez, met with the Honorable Dilip Wedaarachchi, Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development of Sri Lanka.

In the meeting, both sides highlighted the historical bonds of friendship existing between the two countries and reiterated their interest in strengthening ties of cooperation, trade and investment in the areas of fisheries and development and preservation of aquatic resources.

Parents of students studying in Cuba paid tribute to the Commander in Chief

SRI LANKA, February 11, 2017. - With a minute of silence in homage to the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, began the Annual Meeting of the Association of Parents, whose children study in Cuba for the scholarship plan offered to young people of Low-income families from developing countries, which took place at the Cuban Embassy in Colombo.

SRI LANKA, February 9, 2017. - The Honorable Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the historic ties of friendship and cooperation existing between both countries, as well as reiterated the interest of continuing to develop and strengthen these. Other issues of bilateral interest were also dealt with.
