Minister of Health of Sri Lanka received the Ambassador of Cuba

SRI LANKA, April 18, 2018. - The Honorable Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health, Nutrition an Indigenous Medicine of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, received at the headquarters of that Ministry in Colombo, the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the state of bilateral relations in the health sector and the perspectives for its further development and strengthening.

Meeting with members of the Mahajana Party of Sri Lanka

SRI LANKA, March 28, 2018. - The Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, held a meeting with Ms. Dulcy de Silva, Senior Vice President of the Mahajana Party, where other members of the Party were also present.

During the meeting there was an exchange on matters of bilateral interest. The Ambassador provided extensive information on various current national issues such as the Cuban electoral process and the damages suffered by Cuba as a result of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

Socialist Women’s Union of Sri Lanka demands the end of the blockade

Sri Lanka, March 9, 2018. -  During the ceremony held at the Public Library of Colombo, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the Socialist Women’s Union of Sri Lanka delivered to the Cuban Ambassador, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, a copy of the letter directed by that organization to the Ambassador of the United States in Sri Lanka, demanding the unilateral and unconditional cessation of the blockade imposed by his government against Cuba for almost 60 years.

Classical Guitar Concert in Solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela and Palestine

SRI LANKA, January 23, 2018.- Organized by the Guitar Association of Sri Lanka took place during 20, 21 and 22 of January 2018, in the towns of Colombo, Kandy and Kallutara, the Annual Classical Guitar Festival, dedicated on this occasion to express solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela and Palestine.

The Indian guitarist, Aditya Gandhi, performed the music of prominent Cuban musician Leo Brouwer and Venezuelan guitarist Antonio Lauro. Several groups and soloists from the localities where the event took place also participated.
