The government of the Republic of Ecuador informed the decision to terminate and not renew the six agreements signed with the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba.
The Cuban medical cooperation in Ecuador began in 1992. In June 2006 the cooperation agreement was signed for the start of the “Operation Miracle”, with the participation of 153 employees. Through this program 168 thousand 543 surgical interventions were carried out, including 4 thousand 609 cataracts and 118 thousand 575 pterygium.

Large majority in the UN condemns the blockade of the US government against Cuba
By a large majority of 187 votes in favor, 3 against and 2 abstentions, the international community approved today, November 7, 2019, the resolution presented by Cuba at the General Assembly of the United Nations “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives received the Cuban Ambassador
SRI LANKA, October 31, 2019: - His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the headquarters of that Ministry.
During the meeting, which took place in a friendly environment, both parties highlighted the relations of friendship between the two countries, as well as exchanged on various issues of bilateral and multilateral interest.
Cuban Culture Day in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, October 14, 2019.- At the Russian Cultural Center and organized by the Embassy of Cuba and the Sri Lankan Guitar Association, Cuban Culture Day was celebrated in the context of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Cuba and Sri Lanka and Che's historic visit to Sri Lanka in August 1959. There was also a representation from the Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs.
