Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines exchange views on agricultural cooperation and food production
Kingstown, February 11, 2026 — The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Echeverry, held a working meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Transformation and Forestry, Honorable Israel Bruce, during which both parties discussed issues of bilateral interest related to strengthening cooperation in the agricultural sector and food production.
During the meeting, various possibilities were examined to expand and deepen bilateral cooperation in key areas such as sustainable agricultural development, increased food production, the transfer of knowledge and best practices, as well as leveraging Cuba’s experience in training human resources in the field of agriculture.

We energetically reject the designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism. The US Department of State knows this not to be true. This designation is but a pretext to further justify the unpopular and criminal economic and financial punishment to which Cuba has been subjected since 1962. The majority of members of the United Nations General Assembly has repeatedly voted for the lifting of these unjust sanctions to be removed.
Cuba, despite these coercive measures has shared the little it had on its plate with other poor nations around the world.
The Unity Labour Party (ULP) reaffirms its solidarity with Cuba and strongly rejects U.S. aggressions against the island’s sovereignty
Kingstown, February 9, 2026 – The Unity Labour Party (ULP), the opposition party in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, issued an official statement expressing its firm and continued support for the Cuban people and categorically condemning the recent political and economic aggressions by the United States against the Republic of Cuba, emphasizing the importance of respect for sovereignty and the self-determination of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.
In the statement, the ULP stressed that the unilateral actions of the United States—including sanctions, political pressure, and destabilization campaigns—constitute a violation of international law, undermine the principles of sovereign respect among states, and place regional peace and stability at risk.
The statement underscores that Cuba has historically faced coercive policies that have affected its economy and the well-being of its people, and that these measures not only violate human rights but also contravene the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
Cuban Ambassador pays courtesy call to the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Kingstown, January 6, 2026.– The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister, The Honorable Dr. Godwin Friday, in a meeting held in a cordial atmosphere marked by mutual respect.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the positive state of bilateral relations between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as on the shared willingness to continue strengthening the historic ties of brotherhood that unite both countries.

The new Speaker of the House of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Mrs. Ronnia Durham-Balcombe, held a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to this country, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, in which both sides reaffirmed their interest in continuing to strengthen bilateral relations and interparliamentary exchange.
During the meeting, the importance of deepening cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries was emphasized as a way to promote dialogue, exchange of experiences and concertation on issues of common interest. The value of mutual respect and historical friendship that characterizes relations between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was also highlighted.
The President of the Parliament expressed her willingness to promote initiatives that contribute to closer interparliamentary ties, while the Cuban ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening institutional links and bilateral cooperation.
