Cuba in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

STATEMENT BY THE CUBA-ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY ON THE RE-INCLUSION OF CUBA ON THE US LIST OF STATES SPONSORS OF TERRORISM

The Cuba-St. Vincent and the Grenadines Friendship Society strongly rejects the re-inclusion of Cuba on the arbitrary and bogus List of States Sponsors of Terrorism, a decision that was recently taken by the new US president, Donald Trump and something our organization warned that could happen again at any time.

As we have stated before, this is an arrogant, baseless and vindictive act of   aggression by the US government against the Cuban people.

This decision shows, once again, the cruelty of these and so many other measures of siege and suffocation, which are applied against Cuba for the purpose of domination and destruction.

Former President Joe Biden’s decision on removing Cuba from the List implied a public and official recognition that Cuba is not a state sponsoring of terrorism..

Presentation about Cuba is given at Vincentian primary school.

Kingstown, January 21, 2025 – Members of the staff of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines visited the Sugar Mill Academy primary school, where a presentation was given on the “Greatest Island of the Antilles”.

The Cuban ambassador, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, shared with third-grade students interesting facts about Cuba, its history, culture, sport, gastronomy and traditions, which gave rise to numerous questions and comments.

Particularly pleasant moments were to talk about José Martí, Cuban National Hero and his masterpiece "The Golden Age", a beautiful book full of teachings dedicated to children in Cuba and the world; as well as about the Cuban music, when students could enjoy the "Guantanamera", one of the icons of the Cuban musical history.

Although the blockade remains in force and still harms the lives of the Cuban families, our organization welcomes with satisfaction the recent measures taken by the US Government

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba

As part of the close and fluid relations with the Vatican, the Government of Cuba has remained in touch with Pope Francis and his representatives and, as has occurred in the past, has kept His Holiness informed about the processes of review of the convictions and the release on imprisoned person, a practice that is common in our judicial system and has characterized the humanitarian record of the Revolution.
