Cuba in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

SVG present at the 1st Forum of Cuban Educators Living Abroad.

Kingstown, 11 February 2025. The Cuban teacher resident in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Nauris Sam, participated virtually this morning at the I Forum of Cuban Educators Living Abroad, which was held within the framework of the International Pedagogy Congress 2025.

During the event, participants in the Forum exchanged on issues related to the improvement of the national education system in Cuba and explored possible business opportunities with the Enterprise Group of the Ministry of Education.

The main interventions of the Forum were made by the Cuban Minister of Education, Dr. C. Naima Ariatne Trujillo Barreto and the Director General of Consular and Cuban Foreign Residents Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of Cuba, Ana Teresita González Fraga. ​​​​​​​

Ambassador of Cuba visits the Vincentian parliament.

Kingstown, 3 February 2025. – The Cuban ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, visited the headquarters of the legislative body of this country, where he was received by its speaker, the Honourable Mrs. Rochelle Forde.

The Cuban diplomat and Madame Speaker exchanged views on different  topics, including the current situation in Cuba, the state of bilateral cooperation, as well as other issues of regional and international interest.

The Cuban ambassador reiterated the invitation to the Speaker to pay an official visit to Cuba at her convenience.

Ms. Forde is a Vincentian lawyer and serves as Speaker of the House of Assembly since November 2020

AIA and ECASA are about to launch a cooperation project.

Kingstown, 3 February 2025. Authorities of the Cuban Aviation Company of Airport Services (ECASA), Argyle International Airport (AIA) and the Embassy of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines held a productive exchange through video conference, in which they agreed on the final elements associated with a new collaborative project between the two countries.

This is a group of 6 Cuban engineers who will soon travel to St. Vincent, to join the maintenance and modernization work being carried out

UWI officials visit the Cuban Embassy in SVG.

Kingstown, 31 January 2025. Representatives of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Global Campus SVG, visited the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in this country, where they were received by Ambassador Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry.

Both sides discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation with Cuban counterparts, in areas such as teaching the Spanish language, art and Cuban dances, among others.

The head of the entity, Dr. Resa Noel-McBarnett, made a presentation on the main face-to-face and virtual courses available at UWI, while the Cuban diplomat emphasized the great importance that Cuba attaches to education

Chairman of the Prime Ministerial Advisory Council on youth visits the Cuban Embassy

Kingstown, 30 January 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, received Mr. Anson Latchman, Chairman of the Prime Ministerial Advisory Council on youth.

The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere and the parties exchanged information on the functioning and missions of the Council, its role in Vincentian society and the possibilities for bilateral collaboration, with the participation of teachers, Cuban artists and sports coaches from different areas.

The Advisory Council is a young organization. It was founded in September 2023. It has a primary committee and more than 300 members, which are divided into subcommittees or sectorial groups covering art and culture; politics; economy, social, religious and gender issues; sports, etc.,
