INDER delegation conducts working visit to Toronto

Following meetings with authorities in Quebec and Ottawa, the delegation from Cuba's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER), headed by First Vice President Raúl Fornés, conducted a working visit to Toronto to hold exchanges with Ontario authorities.

The morning began with the delegation being welcomed by the Head of Protocol of the Parliament and a guided tour of the Ontario Legislative Building, the seat of the Government, Parliament, and the Lieutenant Governor of the province.

On the second and final day of work in Ottawa, the delegation headed by the First Vice President of Cuba's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER), Raúl Fornés Valenciano, held a fruitful and relaxed exchange at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Canada, with the staunch friend Bill Ryan. The meeting was conducive to exploring ways to strengthen cooperation with Cuba and to once again convey admiration and gratitude to Bill for so many years of faithful friendship with the Cuban people.

Quebec's interest in exchange projects

On their second day of work in Quebec, the First Vice President of Cuba's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER), Raúl Fornés Valenciano, and the accompanying delegation, paid tribute to National Hero José Martí, at the bust located, along with monuments of other regional heroes, in the Latin America Park of this city.

Subsequently, they held a pleasant meeting with Maxime Lamarche, Managing Director of Baseball Quebec, and other directors of associations related to that sport. The mutual interest in exchange projects was confirmed.

THE AMBASSADOR OF CUBA VISITS THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS

The Cuban Ambassador in Monrovia, Dr. Indira López Argüelles, visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, invited by its Minister a.i. J. Bryant McGill.

 

The Honorable Mr. Mcgill in charge of Sports Development issues, explained the projects planned by Liberia to promote athletes, the

importance of sports practice to control juvenile delinquency and the multiple necessities that Monrovia requires in the area of facilities, installment capacities and technicians.

During the work visit to Turkmenistan, the Cuban ambassador, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, toured the Olympic Village in Ashgabat, capital of the country, where the works built for the V Asian Games Under Roof and Martial Arts, held in this Central Asian nation, were valued.

Maksat Hojagulyyev, manager of the complex, explained to the visitors that the Villa has 30 buildings, including 15 competition stages.
