As of October 1, 2026, an update to the current Consular Fee Schedule will enter into force.
As a result of the current complex international macroeconomic environment, marked by sustained global inflation affecting all sectors of the economy, the consular fees currently in effect are being rationally adjusted, a practice frequently adopted by countries in relation to the various services they provide.

Ottawa - The day of August 13 was marked by a gala celebration at the Embassy of Cuba in Canada to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
In the presence of members of the diplomatic corps, Cuban residents, and members of solidarity organizations, Cuba’s Ambassador, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, highlighted Fidel’s life and immense legacy: “If Canada and Cuba have been able to build a multifaceted and mutually beneficial relationship over time, this is also part of Fidel Castro’s legacy.”
Montreal — Cuba solidarity movements in Quebec, Cuban residents, and members of the Consulate General of Cuba in Montreal gathered on August 13 to commemorate Fidel’s legacy on the occasion of his centennial.
Consul General Yamari Pérez Viera highlighted Fidel’s example, as well as his legacy of sovereignty and social justice.
The “Raúl Roa García” Association of Cubans Resident in Montreal, in coordination with the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDRs) and the Consulate General of Cuba in Montreal, organized a shipment of humanitarian aid to the community project “Put Your Heart into La Güinera.”
The modest contribution made by Cubans residing in Montreal to mark the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz will enable vulnerable people to benefit from food and other essential supplies.

The activity was attended by members of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cubans Resident in Toronto and the Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network (LACSN), who joined this initiative together with members of the Cuban community and friends of Cuba.
Renowned Canadian journalist, researcher, and author Arnold August presented his fourth book on Cuba and Latin America in Montreal, entitled "Fidel Castro: A Canadian's vision."
July 31, 2026. Cuba’s ambassador to Canada, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, met with comrades Drew Garvie, leader of the Communist Party of Canada, and Adrien Welsh, leader of the Communist Party of Quebec.
During the meeting, they discussed the current international situation and the effects of the intensified U.S. blockade against Cuba, particularly the energy blockade measures.
Both communist leaders reiterated the solidarity and support of the Canadian people with Cuba, and in particular that of the Communist Party of Canada (CPC).
The Embassy of Cuba in Canada informs the Cuban community residing in this country about the new measures approved by the Government of the Republic of Cuba to facilitate and expand the participation of Cubans living abroad in the country's national economic development.
These decisions represent an important step toward strengthening the ties between Cuba and its community abroad by creating a broader and more flexible framework that promotes investment, entrepreneurship, and participation in strategic projects for the country's development.
