Cuba to host important biennial Cepal meeting
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Cepal) will hold its biennial meeting, May 7-11 in Havana
Cuba will be the site of the 37th period of sessions of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Cepal), hosting the regional organization's most important biennial meeting, May 7-11 in Havana.
The designation of Cuba as the host was agreed upon by member countries at the conclusion of the last period of sessions, held in May of 2016, in Mexico City.

The Cassinga massacre was the worst air attack perpetuated against the adherents of SWAPO, the political organization opposing South Africa's domination and occupation of Namibian territory.
Some 600 refugees, the majority women, children, and elders lost their lives at the hands of the apartheid forces.

The Minister of Public Health of the Kingdom of Thailand, Clin. Prof. Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, M.D. intervened in the III International Convention "Cuba-Health 2018", an event that between April 23 and 27 has the participation of more than 2,000 representatives of 80 countries, about 50 Ministers and the Directors General of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
