Cuba in Uganda

Political will to advance in Uganda-Cuba economic cooperation.

On the morning of February 23, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Uganda, Ambassador Tania Perez Xiques attended to the meeting to evaluate bilateral economic cooperation between Cuba and Uganda.

 

The working meeting led by Ambassador Elly Kamahungye Kafeero and with the participation of Elizabeth Musazi, Designated Ambassador of Uganda in Cuba, made it possible to consider the progress and challenges in the effort to achieve the necessary economic-commercial relations.

Renewed commitments in the partnership with Uganda National Students Association.

On the morning of February 21, representations of the outgoing and incoming leaderships of the Uganda National Student Association (UNSA) were received by the Ambassador of Cuba Tania Perez Xiques.

 

The Cuban diplomat recognized the working relations established by the 32nd National Executive Committee of UNSA headed by Yusuf Wellonga, which allowed the first official contacts between this organization and its Cuban counterparts (FEU-FEEM) to be established during the year 2022.

 

Cuba and Mexico faithful to their history

The Decoration of the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle, in the degree of Collar, was received on February 11, 2023 by the President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez, from his counterpart, Manuel López Obrador in a gesture of brotherhood between both Latin American leaders and nations.

Uganda and Cuba exchange experiences in disaster response management.

Kampala. On the morning of February 1, the Ambassador of Cuba Tania Perez Xiques was received by the Honorable Anyakun Esther Davina, Minister of State for attention to emergency and disaster preparedness, as well as refugees.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat explained the priority the Cuban government grants to this activity, the Cuban experience in international cooperation, mainly in the Caribbean area, and urged participation in the XI International Congress on Disasters to be held in Havana next June.

Meeting between the Ambassador of Cuba and the General Coordinator of the Rwandan Student Association.

Kigali. In a fraternal meeting, the Ambassador of Cuba transferred a letter from the University Student Federation to its Rwandan counterpart, giving continuity to the virtual meeting held in 2022.

Evariste Murwashyaka, General Coordinator of RNSA (for its acronym in English), thanked the meeting and the possibility of discussing the actions proposed for the year 2023.

Likewise, she conveyed the considerations of the Organization on the potential for joint bilateral work with the FEU and the FEEM of Cuba.
