Gitega. On the night of March 14, the Honorable Reverien Ndikuriyo, Secretary General of the Burundian government party, National Council for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD-FDD) received the Ambassador of Cuba Tania Perez Xiqués.
After reviewing the historical relations between the CNDD-FDD and the Communist Party of Cuba and analyzing the challenges faced in the economic and social transformation of both nations, the course of action to continue strengthening bilateral relations between both political organizations was analyzed.

Gitega. On the morning of March 14, Her Excellency Évariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi received the credentials that accredit Ambassador Tania Perez Xiqués as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in that African nation.
The African president pointed out the historical relations between both countries, his pleasant memories of the visit to Cuba as Secretary General of the ruly party and the significance of the Cuban medical contribution in that nation.
Cuba and Uganda for renewing bilateral sports cooperation.
Kampala. On the evening of March 9, the Ambassador of Cuba Tania Perez Xiqués attended the last function of the National Boxing Championship responding to an invitation from the National Federation of that sport in Uganda.
This action is part of the efforts made by both countries to renew relations of bilateral cooperation in sports and in particular in the discipline of boxing.

On the morning of March 7, Professor Celestino Obua, Vice Chancellor of the Mbarara University of Sciences and Technological in Uganda, together with his management team, received Ambassador Tania Perez and Consul Saúl Swaby.
During the evaluation of the state of bilateral cooperation, the Ugandan university authorities ratified the recognition of the work and results of the current Cuban medical brigade and extended recognition to the Cuban government for its historical support for the efforts of this study center and the government from Uganda.
