Cuba denounces Israel's impunity and the United States' repeated use of the veto at the UN General Assembly
Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to the United Nations, spoke this Tuesday during the resumed session of the Tenth Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly dedicated to the question of Palestine.
In his speech, Guzmán condemned the most recent use of the veto by the U.S. government in the Security Council. He said this prevents progress toward a peaceful and sustainable solution to the conflict and hinders efforts to ensure the protection of the Palestinian civilian population.

During the plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly focused on the “Elimination of unilateral extraterritorial coercive economic measures as a means of political and economic compulsion, Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Cuba's vice minister of foreign affairs, reaffirmed the Cuban government's unequivocal condemnation of these practices, which contravene international law and the fundamental principles of the UN charter.

During his speech at the 18th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, reaffirmed the country's commitment to protecting and ensuring the well-being of persons with disabilities.
