The Cuban pharmaceutical industry vs COVID-19

Havana, August 20, 2020. The Cuban pharmaceutical industry has been key to the national strategy to confront the SARS-COV-2 pandemic, guaranteeing medications to implement treatment protocols established by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), including several products used successfully with high-risk segments of the population, reducing the number of patients reaching serious and critical conditions, as well as mortality rates for this group.

Cuba moves closer to our own COVID-19 vaccine

Havana, August 20, 2020. The central state enterprise management group BioCubaFarma reports having received permission to begin clinical trials of a Cuban candidate vaccine to prevent COVID-19, capable of producing a strong immune reaction to a SARS-COV-2 infection.

Cuba and the UN sign a cooperation agreement for 2020-2024

Havana, August 14, 2020. Cuba and the United Nations yesterday signed the UN Framework Cooperation Agreement for Sustainable Development for the period 2020-2024.

The document was signed by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, and the resident coordinator of the United Nations System on the island, Consuelo Vidal.

This is the third agreement assumed by Cuba with the UN System.
