The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, held a cordial meeting in Kampala, Uganda, with the Deputy Secretary General of UNAIDS, Winnie Byanyima.

Cuba's position is consistent with United Nations General Assembly´s resolution 2758 of October 25th, 1971, and with the position of the overwhelming majority of the international community that officially recognises the People's Republic of China as the only and legitimate representative of all the Chinese people.
Cuba will continue to play an active and constructive role as a member of the G-77 and China.
