The UK Labour Party, winner of the 4 July elections after 14 years of Conservative rule, will hold its Annual Conference on 22-25 September in Liverpool. The participation of representatives of various trade unions from across the country, alongside MPs, reinforces the significance of the event.

THE Morning Star’s motto is “For Peace & Socialism” and we are proud to celebrate Cuban internationalism, and proud too of our long association with the Cuba Solidarity Campaign, which has done so much to secure what I believe is now a wide understanding across the British left and trade union movement of the enormous contribution Cuba has made to the causes of peace and socialism internationally.

On September 23, I’m delighted to be speaking at a the north-west Cuba Vive Rally at the Casa in my home constituency of Liverpool Riverside.
Alongside the Cuban ambassador, parliamentary colleagues Bell Ribeiro-Addy and Richard Burgon and trade union leaders, I will be helping to raise awareness and funds to send life-saving medical aid to Cuba.

London, 12 September. The Cuban Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Coffee Organisation (ICO), Ismara Vargas Walter, signed the International Coffee Agreement 2022 on behalf of Cuba, during the 138th session of the International Coffee Council, held at this venue.
