The United States takes steps in the right direction, but the blockade remains in force. Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba On January 14, 2025, the government of the United States announced the following decisions:

1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism;

2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and

Charge d’affaires of Cuba in Zimbabwe denounces the inclusion of Cuba in the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism in The Chronicle newspaper

Harare, August 1, 2024-The Charge d’affaires of Cuba in Zimbabwe offered an interview to The Chronicle newspaper in which she recalled relevant moments in the history of Cuba; in particular, the significance of the anniversary of July 26 for Cubans. She denounced the criminal blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States and the inclusion of Cuba on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
