President of the Senate travel to Cuba

The President of the Zimbabwe Senate, Hon. Mabel Chinomona, left to Cuba on Saturday, August 31, leading a parliamentary delegation that includes senators and officials of Parliament. During the visit, which will run until September 6, the delegation of the Parliament of Zimbabwe will be received by the National Assembly of People's Power, will visit different historical places and deepen the inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.

ZANU-PF Secretary of Foreign Affairs receives Cuban Ambassador

Yesterday morning, Ambassador Carmelina held a meeting with the ZANU-PF Foreign Secretary, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, at the headquarters of the ruling Party in Zimbabwe. During the meeting the strong ties of friendship that exist between the people of Zimbabwe and Cuba were mentioned, and the gratitude of this country for the support provided by Cuba during the independence struggle. The next African Solidarity Meeting with Cuba was also discussed, which will be held in Nigeria.

Permanent Secretary receives the Ambassador of Cuba in Zimbabwe

The Cuban ambassador to Zimbabwe, Carmelina Ramírez, met this morning with Ambassador James Manzou, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the brother country, to coordinate matters relevant to the bilateral agenda between the two countries. During the meeting they touched on topics such as the status of collaboration and the preparation of the different visits of delegations between both countries scheduled for this second half of the year. The meeting was held under an affectionate climate, which characterizes the historical relations between both nations.

Scholarships awarded to university students in Cuba to young Zimbabweans

2 young Zimbabweans this year received scholarships for their university studies in Cuba. Knowmore Kariye Kalunga and Anesu Simon Taderera, the 2 students selected to pursue their studies in Electrical Engineering and Medicine respectively, signed this morning the Awarding Ballot of their career. At the Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe, the Chargé d'affaires Vladimir Guerra received the students and wished them many successes in their future studies in the Greater Antilles.
