Cuban Vice President says good bye to Mugabe with emotional message
Cuban Vice President Inés María Chapman spoke this afternoon at the farewell tribute held at the Harare National Stadium to the recently deceased leader Robert Mugabe. In her speech, the vice president recalled the friendship between Mugabe and Fidel Castro, and the brotherhood between the people of Cuba and Zimbabwe. She also mentioned the support provided by the African nation in the cuban fight against the blockade, and how more than 3,000 Zimbabweans have graduated in the caribbean island in the fields of Health and Education from the 80s to date.
Ambassador signs Book of Condolences for the death of Robert Mugabe
The Cuban ambassador to Zimbabwe signed this morning the Book of Condolences opened for the diplomatic corps based in Harare, for the death of former president Robert Mugabe. The Zimbabwean leader died on September 6 in Singapore, the country in which he received health treatment. Mugabe was a great friend of Cuba and is recognized as the founding father of the Nation.
The First Vice Minister of MINREX makes an official visit to Zimbabwe
The First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Marcelino Medina González, made an official visit to Zimbabwe from September 5 to 7, as part of his tour of Southern Africa. During his visit he held meetings with Zimbabwe's Vice President Kembo Mohadi, the President of Parliament Adv. Jacob Mudenda, his equivalent in the Zimbabwean Foreign Ministry, Amb. James Manzou, Minister of Health Obadiah Moyo and the Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation, the Olympic multi-medalist Kirstry Coventry.
President of the Senate travel to Cuba
The President of the Zimbabwe Senate, Hon. Mabel Chinomona, left to Cuba on Saturday, August 31, leading a parliamentary delegation that includes senators and officials of Parliament. During the visit, which will run until September 6, the delegation of the Parliament of Zimbabwe will be received by the National Assembly of People's Power, will visit different historical places and deepen the inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.
