Convened by the Cuban state mission in Jamaica, the Jamaica-Cuba Friendship Association (JCFA) and the Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica (ACRJ), the event to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks took place on the afternoon of July 26th.
This year our people are celebrating the 71st anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, which took place in the year that commemorated the centenary of the birth of our national hero José Martí.
In May 2024, the international press reported on the formation of the Refugee Olympic Team (ROT) for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in which two Cuban athletes were unjustifiably included.
The ROT was publicly presented as a group of young athletes "uprooted by war or persecution".
