We shall Overcome: Statement of the Jamaica Cuba Friendship Association

The Jamaica Solidarity Movement with Cuba joins with the rest of progressive humanity, in expressing our deep and profound regrets to our sister country, as a result of the tragic events, caused by the explosion of fuel tanks in the province of Matanzas on Friday August 5th.

We offer special words of comfort and support to the families whose loved ones have been injured by this unfortunate incident and wish for them a full and speedy recovery.

Cuba received recognition from Jamaica for medical solidarity

Cuba received recognition from the Jamaican government for its medical cooperation support during the Covid-19 confrontation.

Kingston, Jamaica, 31 July 2022 (Prensa Latina). Cuba received recognition from the Jamaican government for its medical cooperation support during the Covid-19 confrontation, informed the Cuban ambassador in Kingston, Fermín Quiñones.

Through his Twitter account, Quiñones thanked the Minister of Health and Welfare of that Caribbean nation, Chris Tufton, for the gesture.

During the fight against the pandemic, more than 500 Cuban health collaborators provided services in public medical centers in Jamaica.

69 years ago, when a group of young revolutionaries led by Fidel, assaulted one of the most formidable bastions of imperialism decadent and despotic rule in our sister country, it provided the hope and impetus to our Cuban brothers and sisters that the criminal and blood-thirsty regime led by its henchman Fulgencio Batista, could be challenged.
