Jamaica's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT) announced on its Twitter account on Saturday afternoon, August 20, the dispatch of the first part of a shipment of medical supplies to Cuba in response to the devastation caused by the explosions at the Matanzas supertanker base.

Kingston, 8 August 2022 (Prensa Latina). The Cuban Medical Brigade in Jamaica and the Embassy of Cuba in that nation sent a first shipment of supplies to deal with the fire in the industrial zone of the city of Matanzas.
The aid consisted of more than 100 kilograms of medical supplies and medicines, and departed from Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.
