Cuba strengthens Caribbean cooperation in the field of Customs

Cuba became the first country in the region to ratify the Convention establishing the Caribbean Customs Organization and on mutual administrative assistance in Customs matters. This step was formalized last Friday at the headquarters of the Caribbean Customs Law Enforcement Council located on the island of Saint Lucia. Albert Sandy, Permanent Secretary of this institution, received the instrument of ratification issued by the Republic of Cuba from the Ambassador, Alejandro Simancas.

Cuba’s victory against blockade is presented in Saint Lucia.

The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Alejandro Simancas, presented to the main media of this country the resolution, approved yesterday in the United Nations General Assembly, which calls for an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the largest island of the Antilles.

Saint Lucia’s Victoria Hospital highlights work of Cuban specialists.

A group of Cuban health specialists working at the Victoria Hospital in Saint Lucia who will conclude their mission in the next few days were honored and bid farewell by the management of the Health Centre. The meeting was attended by Doctor Alisha Eugene, Medical Director of the Center and Nancy Charles, Executive Director, who had words of praise for the dedicated work and commitment shown.

With the assistance of more than 1,200 delegates from 95 countries, the Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Meeting, for Democracy and Against Neoliberalism closed its sessions, after meeting in Havana the first days of November.

A group of Cuban Health Collaborators who ended their work in Saint Lucia were bid farewell at an activity held at the Residence of the Ambassador of Cuba this past Friday, with the presence of Senator the Honorable Mary Isaac, Minister for Health and Wellness.
