Promoters of Cuban culture were recognized in Finland

This October 20, tribute was paid to the Cuban National Anthem from Finland on the 155th Anniversary of its creation. In an emotional meeting, the Cuban Embassy recognized the filmmakers Pentti Riutto and Pirkko Pasanen for their historical relationship with Cuba and the recent donation of 39 Cuban cultural titles to the headquarters library. Recognitions were also given to the Finland-Cuba Association, and to two of its members Risto Vourimies and Tero Toivanen, for their tireless work in cultural promotion over the last 60 years.

Cuba destination was presented in Finland

Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, has participated today in the workshop on the Cuba destination developed by the tourism office in the Nordic countries, DMC Touch and the Turkish Airlines airline in Finland. The Tourism counselor, Eddy Santos, presented the potential that allows Cuba to be a preferred place for Finns during their vacation. For its part, Turkish Airlines explained the flight frequencies and connections that make it possible to do this journey with just one intermediate stopover.

Cuba elected to the UN Human Rights Council

Cuba was elected, for the sixth time, to the Human Rights Council, in recognition of the prestige achieved by the country in the work of the Council. With the secret, direct and individual vote of 146 Member States of the United Nations General Assembly, Cuba was the country scoring the highest number of votes in the region, which ratifies the recognition of the international community to the significant progress made by the country in the enjoyment of all human rights for all people is ratified.

Day of Cuban Culture begins in Finland

The inauguration of the Cuban Culture Days was held this Tuesday in Helsinki. Greetings at night were brought by the Cuban ambassador Beatriz Parra González and Paula Pere, president of the Finland-Cuba Association. Cuba thanks Spain for its support against the blockade from Finland

The Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, received this Thursday H.E. Fernando Fernández-Arias, Ambassador of Spain in Finland, at the Cuban headquarters in this Nordic country. In the exchange, the Cuban diplomat shared information about the national reality of her country and the extensive effects on its economy generated by the US blockade, at which time she thanked the European Union and Spain for the support of the Cuban Resolution in the United Nations against this unjust policy.
