Today I had the honor of representing Cuba at the event "The Colombian Peace Agreement: 8 years later. An example to the world and lessons learned", to which I was invited by the Norwegian authorities.

During his recent stay in Oslo and accompanied by Ambassador Maité Rivero Torres, the Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eugenio Martínez Enriquez, held a cordial meeting with his counterpart at the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, Aslaug Nygård.

Norwegian friends visit Cuba

Oslo, November 6, 2024. At the headquarters of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People (ICAP) in Havana, Rigoberto Zarza Ross, director of the Division for Europe, and Elizabeth Ribalta Rubiera, desk officer at the Northern Europe Group, received a Norwegian delegation headed by Berit Moen, Vice President of the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association (Cubaforeningen i Norge).

An emphatic victory for Cuba at the UN: 187 votes against the U.S. blockade

Havana, October 30, 2024. A new emphatic victory for Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly took place this Wednesday, after 187 nations voted in favor of the resolution Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.

As part of the voting process, two nations (the United States and Israel) maintained their historic position against the document and one (Moldova) abstained.
