On January 31, 2025, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he had informed the U.S. Congress of the revocation of the suspension of the possibility of filing lawsuits in U.S. courts, pursuant to Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.

Cuba rejects the decision announced by the President of the United States to use the Guantanamo Naval Base to imprison tens of thousands of migrants he has proposed to forcibly expel. It is a demonstration of the brutality with which that government is acting to supposedly correct problems created by the economic and social conditions of that country, the government's own management and its foreign policy, including hostility towards countries of origin.

The young Norwegian Lars Øvergaard, who is a member of the youth organization of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP) and also of the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, is one of the participants in the 6th International Conference for the Balance of the World, that started up yesterday in Havana.

Members of the Association and of several left-wing political parties; diplomats from Palestine and Venezuela; leaders of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions LO in Oslo, several Latin Americans living in this country; friends in general, and the staff of the Embassy took part in the commemoration.

The Association of Ethio-Cubans in Norway strongly condemns the fact that the new US government has once again included Cuba in the unilateral, arbitrary and spurious list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
