The Department of Sociology of the University of Havana (UH) and the Department of Social Studies of the University of Stavanger (UiS) began in 2020 the international collaboration project "Well-being in Cuba and Norway. Strengthening professional training on social policies and well-being from an intercultural perspective". To date, several groups of postgraduate students have benefited from it.

Isabella, a girl born in Norway to a Cuban mother, already has her Cuban passport

Oslo, August 28, 2024. In April, we shared the news of the granting of the Cuban citizenship to Isabella, the beautiful daughter born in Norway of the Cuban resident in this city Maidelis Batista González.

Today we are pleased to share that Isabella, who turned 4 in July, now has her Cuban passport. The Second Secretary in charge of Consular Affairs, Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, presented the important document to her mother yesterday.

Cuban Ambassador bids farewell to Norway's designated Ambassador to Cuba

Oslo, August 26, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, received John Petter Opdahl, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Cuba.

The Cuban diplomat thanked H.E. Mr. Opdahl for his collaboration during the time he was in charge of the desk of Cuba in the Section for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also wished him success in fulfilling his new duties and expressed her interest in working together for the development of the relations between the two countries.
