Oslo, May 12, 2022. The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, attended a reception offered by the Presidium of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in honor of the accredited Diplomatic Corps.
Upon her arrival, the Ambassador had the opportunity to greet the president of the Storting, Masud Gharahkhani, as well as the five vice-presidents: Svein Harberg, Nils T. Bjørke, Morten Wold, Kari Henriksen and Ingrid Fiskaa.
Oslo, May 4, 2022. The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, paid another visit to the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), this time to hold a meeting with Jorun Nossum and Guro Glavin, deputy director and specialist, respectively, of the Oceans Section of the Department of Climate and Environment.
In a cordial atmosphere, they exchanged on the successive projects of cooperation that, sponsored by NORAD, have promoted for several years the development of a sustainable marine aquaculture in Cuba.
Oslo, May 1, 2022. During the parade that took place in this city for the International Workers' Day, Cuban living in Norway and Norwegian friends responded positively to the call and enthusiastically joined the block organized and led by the Friendship Association Norway-Cuba to show solidarity and support for the Cuban Revolution.
Carrying a huge poster and Cuban flags, and also exclaiming slogans, together they demanded that the US end the blockade against Cuba and return the territory illegally occupied by the Guantanamo Naval Base. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
Oslo, May 1, 2022. On the occasion of International Workers' Day, Bárbaro Maikel Mendoza, a Cuban who has lived in Norway for several years, sent a video message to the Embassy explaining the reason for his presence in the parade that took place in this capital city for such a significant date.
"We are here, together with the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, demanding the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US against Cuba, because it is a hostile, cruel and unjust policy," said Bárbaro Maikel.
Oslo, April 27, 2022. A pleasant exchange was held by the ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, with Hugo Sandoval, an old friend of Cuba of Chilean origin who has lived in Norway for more than 30 years.
Hugo, a social worker that loves its profession, is a member of the Red Party, branch of Norland, where he currently lives. He is also a long-standing trade unionist cadre within the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), first in Trondheim and now in his current province of residence.
