Cuba and Norway develop ties in the academic sector

Oslo, March 15, 2022. Between March 7 and 15, the meeting of the coordinating group of the international collaboration project "Well-being in Cuba and Norway. Strengthening professional training on social policies and well-being from an intercultural perspective" took place at the Norwegian University of Stavanger, focused on capacity building in education and research between the Department of Social Studies of that University  and the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Philosophy, History and Sociology of the University of Havana.

Norwegian friends pay tribute to Cuban women.

Oslo, March 8, 2022. On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Friendship Association with Cuba in Norway wanted to pay tribute to Cuban women through a conversation with the ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres.

The remarks of the Cuban diplomat about her experiences as Head of Mission in the Republic of Guinea when that country was hit by the Ebola epidemic, raised great interest.

Cuba and Norway ratify willingness to develop bilateral relations

Oslo, March 3, 2022. The Ambassador, Mrs. Maité Rivero Torres, held a meeting at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Anne Heidi Kvalsøren and Eugenia Millaray Tapia, director and deputy director, respectively, of the Section for Latin America and the Caribbean.

In a cordial atmosphere, they exchanged on the favorable progress of bilateral relations and expressed the will to work together for its strengthening and expansion, both at the political-diplomatic level and in the economic-commercial, investment and cooperation spheres.

Cuban Ambassador exchanges with President of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) in Oslo

Oslo, March 2, 2022. The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, received Ingunn Gjerstad, president of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) in Oslo.

During the meeting, they reviewed the relations of friendship and cooperation existing between the LO branch in Oslo and the CTC in Havana.

The Norwegian trade union leader expressed interest in resuming exchanges with Havana counterpart, for which they have already identified some actions to be carried out this year.

The Ambassador thanked Ingunn Gjerstad for her visit and assured her full support.
