Join Cuba's "Call for Peace and Sovereignty"

London, 10 February 2026. Support for Cuba's sovereignty and rejection of US interference continue to gain momentum in the United Kingdom. More than 100 parliamentarians, trade union leaders, academics and cultural figures have joined the "Urgent Appeal for Peace and Sovereignty" promoted by the Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba (CSC), bringing the total number of signatures in defence of international law to more than 4,000.

The Cuba Tourist Office in London reports that tourism operations on the Island are proceeding normally and that demand remains stable. Bookings continue to be made from various markets, underpinned by an improvement in the global perception of the destination. Visitor feedback during this period has been notably more positive than that recorded last year.

Cuba present at the Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show 2026 tourism fair

From 29 January to 1 February, London will host the traditional tourism fair "Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show 2026", considered the second most important event for the international tourism industry, surpassed only by the World Travel Market (WTM). Cuba is participating once again with a stand dedicated to the comprehensive promotion of Cuba as a destination, through the Tourism Office of the Cuban Embassy in the United Kingdom.

Santa Clara, 27 January (ACN) From the heart of British legislative power, Cuban scientist Dr Fidel Antonio Castro Smirnov asserted that national sovereignty constitutes ‘the very oxygen of a nation’ during a speech to the United Kingdom Parliament, where he outlined Cuba's achievements in science and international cooperation.

   In exclusive statements to the Cuban News Agency (ACN) via WhatsApp, Castro Smirnov described his participation on Tuesday at the Palace of Westminster as a ‘mission of love.’

British trade union movement reaffirms its support for Cuba

London, 28 January – The historic ties of solidarity between the British trade union movement and Cuba were once again evident during the meeting between Ambassador Ismara Vargas Walter and Paul Nowak, General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), at the organisation's headquarters in London.
