Cuba's Minister of Education, Dr. Naima Ariatne Trujillo Barreto, will participate in the Education World Forum 2025, to be held in London from 18-21 May. The Minister will be accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Education (MINED), including Marian Chorens Cruz, Director of International Relations, and Mayda Ramos Alemán, National Methodologist for English Language Teaching.
On 14 July, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Pablo Ginarte and Press Officer Orestes Martinez participated in a high-level briefing organized by Sinn Féin at Portcullis House, the seat of the British Parliament.
The meeting was led by Mary Lou McDonald, President of Sinn Féin, and Michelle O'Neill, First Minister of Northern Ireland and Deputy President of Sinn Féin.
With a vibrant week dedicated to the rhythm, tradition and cultural identity of the Island, the First Cuban Son Festival in London concluded with great success, leaving indelible marks on the British and Cuban public. The initiative, led by Cuban dancer Damarys Farres together with an enthusiastic team of artists, friends and enthusiasts interested in son, offered an excellent cultural experience that celebrated the best of traditional Cuban music.
The digitisation of the historical documents held by the National Archive will make these records, which constitute a key source for the study of the colonial period of Cuba's history in the 21st century, available to the international academic community.
London, 2 May 2025 - Cuba and the United Kingdom are strengthening their collaboration in the preservation of documentary heritage through the digitisation project of the Prisoners' Record Books of the Royal Prison of Havana, as part of the British Library's Endangered Archives programme.
