Celebrating Cuban Culture Day in the United Kingdom

Every October, Cuban Culture Day celebrates our nation's identity and creative spirit. In the United Kingdom, this commemoration is brought to life by an extraordinary community of Cuban artists who have made these islands their home. Their art embodies the intangible essence of being Cuban, known as cubanía, building a direct bridge between our two peoples and fostering understanding through the universal language of art.

The Government of the Republic of Cuba rejects the mendacious allegations being spread by the United States Government concerning an alleged involvement of Cuba in the military conflict in Ukraine. This is a slanderous accusation first launched in 2023 by certain media outlets without offering any evidence or substantiation of any kind, and clearly serving an assigned purpose.

“Hands Off Cuba!” in Liverpool: solidarity against the blockade

On 28 and 30 September, Ambassador Ismara Vargas and First Secretary for Political Affairs Pablo Ginarte attended two events in Liverpool in solidarity with Cuba, organised by the Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba (CSC). These were parallel activities within the framework of the Labour Party's Annual Conference, on this occasion at the public meeting ‘Hands Off Cuba!’, which reaffirmed support for Cuban sovereignty and the humanitarian campaign Cuba Vive Medical Aid Appeal.

Cuba at the British Fresh Produce Consortium awards ceremony

London, September 26, 2018 - The Cuban Embassy had the pleasure of attending the awards ceremony for the British Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC). This annual event brings together leading representatives of the UK agri-food sector, importers, distributors, and key industry players. The First Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs, Soima Méndez Lazo, participated on behalf of the Cuban Embassy.

Cuba reaffirms its commitment to the oceans on International Maritime Day.

London, September 25. Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Ismara Vargas Walter, participated in the commemoration of International Maritime Day 2025, organized by the IMO. The Ambassador was accompanied by First Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs Soima Méndez Lazo.
