Cubans in Ethiopia support the Statement of the Cuban government on the reinforcement of the US blockade

Addis Ababa, April 25, 2019.  The Cubans working in Ethiopia --including the personnel of the Diplomatic Mission-- and the residing community signed in support of the Statement of the Revolutionary Government of Cuba published the 17 April on  the announcement of the US government to implement by May 2nd, 2019, the Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.

The participants in the gathering also expressed their views by poetry in rejection of the above mentioned punishing measures.   

Commissioner of Social Affairs of the AU confers with the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Abeba.  The Commissioner of Social Affairs of the African Union, H.E. Ms. Amira Elfadil received the Cuban Ambassador to the AU, H.E, Mr. Angel Villa.

The cordial meeting served to exchanged on the potencial cooperaction between Cuba and the AU in various fields based on the MOU signed by the two parties in 2015.

The AU Commissioner acknowledged the historic cooperation of Cuba to Africa including the support for the independence and sovereignty of some nations.

Bilateral cooperation in Technology and Innovation

Addis Ababa, March 26, 2019.  The Ambassador o Cuba to Ethiopia, H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas  was received by the State Minister of Technology and Innovation of Ethiopia, H.E.  Dr. Shumete Gizaw.

Both parties exchanged on possible new joint projects in the field of science and technology in order to expand the bilateral cooperation.

State Minister of Health of Ethiopia received the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Ababa, March, 29, 2019.  The State Minister of Health of Ethiopia, H.E, Ms. Lia Tadesse, received the Cuban Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas.

Both parties analyzed the current bilateral cooperation in this field that includes the presence of Cuban professionals in health and academic institutions in Ethiopia, as well as the Medicine students in Cuba.
