Dear Comrades,
On behalf of the National Council of the Communist Party of India, and my own behalf I convey warm fraternal greetings to the leadership and delegates at the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba which will take place from April 16 to 19, 2021 at Havana.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns the Trump administration’s decision to designate Cuba as a ‘State sponsor of terrorism’. It demands the Biden administration to immediately reverse this categorisation, which is far from truth. On the contrary, Cuba, in these times of pandemic was actively engaged in saving human lives by sending its medical personnel to far off lands. Cuba is lauded by the people all over the world for its yeoman services in providing humanitarian assistance.

I thank Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, for calling to this meeting to exchange on the urgent and needed efforts which allow us to face COVID-19.
I avail myself of this occasion to congratulate Uganda, which shall assume the NAM Chairmanship in the year of 2022. While assuring it Cuba´s full support, we wish Uganda success in the performance of such duty.
