Heartfelt tribute to National Hero Jose Marti in Lao PDR

Vientiane January 30, 2023. The Day for the 170th anniversary of the birth of the National Hero "Jose Martí" was celebrated at the "Laos-Cuba Friendship" Secondary and Pre-University School in Dongbang, in the capital Vientiane. The act was attended by leaders of the Party, the Ministry of Education and Sports and the educational center, where more than 800 students study, representatives of the collaboration and Cuban residents.

Farewell to Laos scholarship holders who will study at Cuban universities

Vientiane, 17, 2023. Ambassador Enna Viant Valdés bid farewell, at the Cuban diplomatic headquarters, to the ten Lao scholarship holders who will study at the island's universities in the current academic year 2023-2024. Together with them were the directors of the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association and relatives of the students.

In the meeting, passages of the substantial work of Jose Martí, National Hero, whose birth is celebrated every January 28, were recreated, and was a source of attention and interest of those present.

In exchange with the Prensa Latina agency news, the Cuban Ambassador verified that the participation of Laos in the event, was truly unprecedented and said she was proud of that presence, which contributed to the ideas debate and success among more than 1,100 delegates from more than 80 countries who attended this important event.

Lao students join the March of the torches.

Vientiane, January 29, 2023. The Cuban Ambassador in Vientiane has sent a greeting to the Lao students who participated in the meaningful torchlight march on January 28, to pay homage to the National Hero in the Marti forge.

The diplomat said she was proud of the university students from Cuba and the world, including those from the Lao PDR, who live important moments in their lives, sharing experiences and the rich historical tradition of an island that is distant in geography but very close and united by bonds of brotherhood and friendship.
