The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in his capacity as President Pro Tempore of the G-77 + China Group, convened a Summit of Heads of State and Government under the theme "Current development challenges: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation", on September 15 and 16, 2023, in Havana.

Cuba highlights achievements under pro tempore presidency of the G77.

Vientiane June 14, 2023. During Cuba's pro tempore presidency at the head of the Group of 77 plus China, an agreement on conservation and sustainable use of the oceans was adopted by consensus at the United Nations, which marked an important milestone for the salvation of the oceans threatened by pollution, the climate crisis and new technologies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines that Cuba has been honored since assuming this high responsibility, by conducting a decisive period of negotiations aimed at reaching this historic result.

Positive visit of the vice minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba in Laos ends Vientiane

May 11, 2023. From May 6 to 11, the visit to Lao PDR, of the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG) of the Republic of Cuba, Maury Hechavarria Bermúdez, took place to strengthen agricultural cooperation- livestock. The welcome and farewell at the airport was provided by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Siphaphai Saisongkham.
