Christchurch, July 15th 2019. Cuban Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray, gave a lecture at the University of Canterbury, in which he addressed, among other topics, Cuba's vision regarding the situation in Latin America, the aggressive escalation of the US government towards the Island and other issues on the international agenda.
Wellington, July 4th, 2019. Cuban diplomats received at the Embassy headquarters, Thomas Pope-Kerr and Nicole Ambua, young New Zealanders who will represent Cuba in the Model United Nations New Zealand, an event that counts every year with the participation of more than 200 delegates from all around Aotearoa and in this edition will take place from July 4th to 7th at Victoria University of Wellington.

Organized by the University of Canterbury and the Embassy of Cuba, Chargé d'Affaires ai Saimin Fis Abad held a fruitful exchange on topics of the international agenda with postgraduate students of this university, who are doing the master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Foreign Minister Winston Peters has reaffirmed the New Zealand government’s opposition to the illegal blockade of Cuba.
Auckland.- As part of its close relationship with the Letras Latinas library, the Cuban Embassy made a book donation covering a diverse group of topics.
Letras Latinas is a community library based in Auckland, the only institution of its kind in Romance languages, associated with ALAC (Aotearoa Latin America Community), which in turn offers social services to the Latin American community in New Zealand.
It seems to be a perfect timing for this action, given the fact that ALAC will be soon celebrating their 25th anniversary.
