Representative of the Cuban Office of Industrial Property Participates in Roundtable on South-South Cooperation in Intellectual Property

Geneva, November 14, 2025. The Cuban Office of Industrial Property (OCPI) was represented at the Roundtable on South-South Cooperation in Intellectual Property, held on November 13 and 14 at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva. The Cuban delegation was headed by Lyan Marsans Castellanos, Head of the Department of Legal Advisory and International Relations of the OCPI.

Speaking at the Plenary Session on Reform Process of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Chargé d'Affaires Rebeca Hernández Toledo reiterated the importance of multilateralism, inclusivity, and transparency in the WTO, as well as the defense of decision-making by consensus, as established in the Marrakech Agreement.

The members of the Geneva branch of the Swiss-Cuba Solidarity Association issued a forceful public declaration of support for the Cuban people and rejection of this criminal policy, on the eve of the debate and vote in the United Nations General Assembly, on October 28-29, on the resolution presented by Cuba condemning the United States economic, commercial, and financial blockade.
