Cuba rejects this hostile and interventionist exercise against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, a sister nation that has been systematically attacked.

Calls to disregard the election results in Venezuela are irresponsible and disrespectful to the people’s will. Venezuelans have the right to defend their revolution and it is up to them alone to shape their future; no one else.

If we really want to contribute to the cause of human rights in Iran, the unilateral coercive measures imposed against that country, which violate the human rights of its people, must cease immediately.

This Council cannot become an instrument of those who seek to subvert the internal order of sovereign nations.
