Cuba's Strong Condemnation of Cowardly US Aggression Against Venezuela and Full Support for that Sister Nation Declaration of the Revolutionary Government

Havana, January 3, 2026.- The Revolutionary Government condemns in the strongest terms the military aggression of the United States against Venezuela, while categorically reiterating Cuba's absolute support and solidarity with the sister Bolivarian Republic and its government. It supports the address of the Executive Vice President, Comrade Delcy Rodríguez, and backs her demand that the United States government provide proof of life of the constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros and Comrade Cilia Flores, as well as the determination of the Bolivarian and Chavista government, and its people, to reject the aggression and defend their independence and sovereignty.

Economic War Against Cuba Escalates. Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba

December 12, 2025. – On December 10, 2025, United States military forces assaulted an oil tanker while it was sailing in international waters in the Caribbean Sea, near the coast of Venezuela.

This act of piracy and maritime terrorism constitutes a serious violation of International Law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Maritime Navigation. The United States government is responsible for the commission of these crimes, which harm the international community as a whole.

The Practice of Cuban Son Declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

Paris, 10 December 2025. – During the 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in New Delhi, India, the practice of Cuban son was officially inscribed today on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

This decision constitutes the highest international institutional recognition for this musical and dance expression, a fundamental synthesis of the African and Spanish heritages that forged the Cuban national identity.

Cuba Participates in International Forum on Inclusive Sports

Santiago de Chile, November 28, 2025 — Cuba participated in the International Forum on Inclusive Sport and Physical Education 2025, organized by UNESCO in cooperation with the Government of Chile and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), on November 27 and 28. This high-level forum was dedicated to promoting inclusive, equitable, and safe sport and physical education as tools to eliminate barriers and create opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The Cuban delegation was represented by José Cedeño Tamayo, Director General of Physical Education and Sport for All at the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), who participated as a panelist in the session titled “Inclusive Physical Education: Empowering Coaches and Teachers.” On this occasion, he highlighted the importance of continuous training and capacity building as essential elements to guarantee effective inclusion in the sports and educational fields.
