Venezuela and Mexico send aid to Cuba to fight fire in Matanzas

Havana, August 7, 2022.- Two planes from Venezuela and Mexico carrying aid arrived in Cuba in support of the fight against the fire in the industrial zone of the city of Matanzas, which broke out on Friday night caused by a lightning.

A Conviasa airline A340-600 brought in firefighters and specialists from the Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) state company.

In addition, approximately 20 tons of chemical products were received to assist in controlling the incident.

Diaz-Canel calls for unity among communist parties around the world

Havana, July 25, 2022.- Cuban residents abroad and friends of Cuba were heard this weekend in all continents prior to the celebration of the 69th anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons.

On July 26, 1953, young people led by then young lawyer Fidel Castro tried to take over those two fortresses in eastern Cuba. The actions failed militarily but represented the beginning of the revolutionary struggle against the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship (1952-1958).

The minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment explained to the lawmakers at the Economic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament) the actions implemented after the body’s accountability to the legislature last December.
