Cuba Demands Fair and Inclusive Treatment for Developing Countries at the United Nations

New York, 6 October 2025 — The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, spoke at the General Debate of the Second Committee of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, where he reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment to multilateralism, cooperation, and finding collective solutions to sustainable development challenges.

Cuba has a policy of zero tolerance for any contemporary form of slavery and any form of trafficking in persons, which is expressly prohibited by the Constitution of the Republic and other national laws. These are heinous crimes and a blatant violation of human rights, which our country firmly rejects.

National teams of Cuba and SVG play friendly match in an atmosphere of brotherhood and enthusiasm

Kingstown, October 6, 2025. — On the evening of October 5, the first friendly football match between the national teams of Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines took place at the Arnos Vale Stadium, in an encounter marked by sportsmanship, friendship, and the Caribbean spirit.

Despite the unfavorable result for the Cuban team, the event unfolded in an atmosphere of great excitement. Hundreds of Cubans residing in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, together with collaborators from various Cuban brigades and members of the Embassy of Cuba, filled the stands to offer their unconditional support to the national team.
