The campaign to support Cuba launched by Vietnam's Red Cross Society officially concluded on Saturday, after surpassing the initial goal by 9.46 times and raising 615 billion dong (more than 23.346 million dollars). Highlighted by Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President of the Vietnamese Red Cross Society, as one of the significant activities of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year, the program became a “beautiful and moving story of humanity,” he said.
Upon speaking at the closing ceremony of the campaign, Hai Anh underscored that behind each donation, from the mountains to the cities, there are millions of stories of affection, gratitude, and nobility of the Vietnamese people, written with a single sentiment: Cuba and Vietnam will always be united under any circumstances.
Representatives from communist parties and left-wing movements appreciated Vietnam’s revolutionary theory closely linked with its development realities and the trends of the times at the 3rd International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left-wing Parties and Movements, held from October 16-18, in Cuba. Phan Xuan Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation, led a delegation to attend the event where he shared some theoretical and practical issues related to the new era of development in Vietnam. During their participation in the meeting, the Vietnamese delegation held meetings with Politburo member, permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee, and head of the committee’s Organisation Commission Roberto Morales Ojeda, and some senior Cuban officials.
The second edition of the Children's and Youth Painting Contest "To Cuba with Love," organized by the Cuban Embassy in Athens, was held at its facilities this Saturday, October 18th, in honor of Cuban Culture Day and attended by a representation of family members and other members of the Cuban community residing in Greece.
