The Mayor of Vienna ratifies his willingness to strengthen ties with Havana

The Ambassador of Cuba to Austria, His Excellency Mr. Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and the Mayor of the city of Vienna, Dr. Michael Ludwig held a fraternal meeting. Both authorities exchanged information and proposals on the state of the bonds between the capital cities and the possibilities of expanding them.

The Cuban Ambassador informed his counterpart about the arrangements being made in Havana to celebrate the 500th anniversary of its creation next year at the time he extended an invitation to the Viennese Mayor to visit the Cuban capital.

Meeting with the Hon. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in which the historical significance of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, initiated on 5/15/1958, was highlighted.

Cuba's sports cooperation with Barbados to be extended.

The acting executive director of the National Sports Council (CND) Barbados, Mona Alleyne, gave a warm welcome to Cuban coaches on their arrival in Barbados, after the signing of the contract extending the cooperation for another two years, until summer 2020. The arrival took place just before the start of the new school year, for them to be fully incorporated into the physical education classes in the primary and secondary schools of the country, as well as methodological advice in the seven disciplines established, in coordination with the federations and national clubs on the island. Cuba's ambassador, Francisco Fernández, highlighted the event that takes place during the preparations for the official visit to Havana by the Minister of Sports and Culture of Barbados, John King, while attending the International Congress Cuba-Motricity 2018, next 22-25 of October .

Back in Ghana Cuban Health Workers

After enjoying a vacation in Cuba, the members of the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC, according to the Spanish acronym) arrived in Ghana. They were received by Ambassador Pedro Luis Despaigne González, in the new International Flight Terminal of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) of Accra.

This current BMC is working in Ghana since October 2016, and its members serve in five out of ten regions of the country (Northern, Upper East, Volta, Eastern and Greater Accra).
